Urban Quartet

The Urban Quartet consists of guitarist Scott McDevitt,
drummer Randy Rollofson, bassist Eric Gruber and pianist Marcus Reynolds.
Randy and Marcus have replaced original members Brent Follis and Matt
Delaretto, who have moved to New York. Scott originally formed the
group in 2003 and it has continued to grow and develop ever since.
The Urban Quartet plays traditional jazz from composers
like Monk, Mingus, and Bill Evans as well as more modern jazz from
composers like Gary Burton and Chick Corea. Scott has also composed
several tunes which have found their way into the group's repertoire.
The Urban Quartet is founded on the excellent technique and improvisational
skills of the players. However, audiences love the energy and catchy
arrangements that the group has developed, which fuse elements of
swing, latin, blues, and funk.
